Seachem Pristine uses bio-augmentation, a non-chemical and natural method, to improve water quality. It provides bacteria that break down excess food, water, and detritus in freshwater and marine systems. It will also reduce excess nutrients (e.g. ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites) that may fuel the growth of nuisance and disease-causing organisms. Pristine increases water clarity and promotes overall better health for the aquatic environment.

The bacteria species is Pristine thrive in fresh or salt water and can utilize a wide range of organic compounds, including fats that can cause unsightly films. Ulike traditional nitrifying bacteria, this bacterial blend can adapt to harsh or low oxygen environments and continue to multiply and improve water conditions. Biopolymers produced by established bacterial colonies trap particulates and increase water quality.

Using bio-augmentation, a chemical free and natural way to improve aquarium water quality, the formula is able to provide essential bacteria that efficiently break down excess food, waste and detritus in addition to reducing excess nutrients such as harmful ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites that tend to fuel the growth of problematic, disease-causing organisms. The species of bacteria found in Seachem Pristine is a unique blend that has been developed specifically for their improved hardiness and their ability to quickly adapt to a wide range of aquarium conditions such as harsh or low oxygen environments. These bacteria thrive in both fresh and salt water, making use of a wide variety of organic compounds such as the fats that cause unsightly films across the top of water, and other aquarium ornaments or plants. The biopolymers produced by the established bacterial colonies are effective at trapping particulates within the water column leading to a significant improvement in water clarity. Comes in a 100 ml container.

Instructions:

Shake well before use. Turn off any and all UV/ozone equipment. Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 40 L (10 US gallons) of aquarium water and then use a maintenance dose of 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 US gallons) of aquarium water with any new livestock additions or in case of the disruption of the biofilter through cleaning or the use of powerful medications.

Any antibiotics should be removed with fresh carbon and a water change before adding bacteria, as this can greatly impact development and colonization. Allow 2 or 3 days for the bacteria to become properly established before using UV sterilizers or ozone equipment again.
